Taeko T.
Private tutor in Victoria, Canada
Education
I've studied how to teach at Shiga University in Japan. I have 5 teaching certificates: elementary school, Junior high English, High school English, Junior high Math and High school Math. I’m not a native English speaker and don’t want to say this, but l taught English at a public junior high school in Japan. Because I’m in Canada more than 20 years, my English is fairly good. My TOEIC test score was 920/990 about ten years ago. I use the teaching English techniques to teach Japanese.
Experience
I've been teaching Japanese since 2003. At first l started teaching at a language school in downtown and started teaching at home in a few years. I've taught many students including university students, high school students, tourists (survival Japanese) and students taking Japanese proficiency Test 2,3,4 and 5. If you want to read reviews, please go to languagetutor.ca. you can see my photo as well. (l have a problem uploading my photo)

Hobbies
I take teaching Japanese as a hobby, because l enjoy teaching every lesson! My main job used to be a tour guide for Japanese tourists, but these years teaching Japanese is my main job. As I like music, I use some songs in the lessons so that they will help you memorize Japanese. I even made a song! :) I’m currently learning French through online material, so l can understand how difficult learning a language is. My other hobbies are yoga, cross-stitching and gardening. (Gardening is not my hobby but I need to do it often.)
