Education

I earned an undergraduate degree in education from Queens University and another undergraduate degree in anthropology with honors from the University of Western Ontario. I have additionally completed several workshops and conferences on various special education topics as well as on home learning and I completed Special Education Part 1 at the University of Western Ontario.

Experience

I am a British Columbia Certified teacher available for tutoring home learners during daytime hours and any students during the summer in grades 4-12 in math and language arts. I am currently only tutoring online. I am friendly, fun, and patient. I teach with an emphasis on hands-on, relevant learning. I specialize in tutoring children with special needs including ADHD, ASD (autism), dyslexia, sensory processing difficulties, brain damage, and behavioral issues. I have fourteen years of experience tutoring a variety of children full-time and five years of experience teaching in a classroom setting.

I love to laugh and have fun. I enjoy dancing, singing, and playing piano and guitar. I love to take long walks - especially beside the ocean. I have a 22 year old son who I enjoy spending time with and travelling with. I also enjoy spending time with friends, reading, cooking, and gardening.
